The ECMGG examination content is based on the topics represented in the syllabus of the
European Training Requirements (and Syllabus) for the Specialty of Medical Genetics.

The ECMGG examination consists of 110 multiple choice questions (MCQ) and six structured oral assessment stations (SOA) set up as Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE)-style stations.

October 1, 2026 Registration opens. Prospective candidates verify their eligibility and minimum equipment requirements, and start their application process. Priorities apply.
November 13, 2026 Registration closes.
Final date for receiving candidate’s medical qualification document.
Final date for payment for Priority 1&2 candidates.
November 20, 2026 Registered Priority 3 candidates receive information about remaining examination slots.
November 30, 2026 Final date for payment for Priority 3 candidates.
December 1, 2026 Registered Priority 4 candidates receive information about remaining examination slots along with individual payment information.
April 12, 2027
10AM CEST		 MCQ part briefing (virtual), link to follow.
April 2027 Period to complete certain minimum requirements technical checks (ProctorU). Exact dates to be provided.
April 30, 2027
12PM to 7PM CEST		 MCQ EXAMINATION PART, link to follow. Candidates are advised to dedicate 12PM to 7PM CEST to the MCQ part.
May 21, 2027 Final date for notifying candidates of their results of the MCQ part.
June 17, 2027
3PM CEST		 SOA part briefing (virtual), link to follow.
June 21 and 22, 2027 SOA EXAMINATION PART, link to follow. Candidates are advised to dedicate both full days to the SOA part.
July 13, 2027 Final date for notifying candidates of their results of the ECMGG.
